I'm delving deeper and deeper into Retro photography.

I won a hardly used Dimage F100, an RC3 remote control (it works too!) and it's neat little Minolta bag for A$30. For some reason he didn't mention the bag and the remote in the ad, and he threw in 256Mbyte Compact Flash card for some reason, which will be handy in my Dimage 7.

It certainly had a lot of features for its time.

I think it needs Eneloop batteries though.

Renato,

You have yourself a well built camera with full manual controls for a very good price. The GT lens is excellent. Most definitely use Eneloops, they make a huge difference to the usability of the camera (I have the F300). I look forward to seeing some test shots.

One of the good features is that you can save pictures as .tiff files. It takes some time to write to the card but the resulting images are worth it.

Thanks Karel,
The F100 has a GT lens? I was unaware of that.

Those Eneloops are amazing. In my Dimage 7i, using 2700MAh batteries would show "low battery" after a few days. But with 2000 MAh Eneloops, the 7i stayed fully charged for several months while I was overseas, as well as when I next used it for several hours - and I still haven't recharged them.

I'm looking forward to a nice day after the cureent storms have passed to give the F100 a good work out.

I'll check out the TIFF mode, too.

Regards,
Renato

It's digital Adrian.

Very similar display and internal menu to the 7i, but without all the knobs on the outside.

It felt like an old friend when I turned it on.

Is that a digital or a film camera?
It's a nice little digital ....

I am 'Looking for Henry Lee ' (could be Lea, or even Leigh) and despite going 'Hey round the corner', and looking 'behind the bush', I have not yet found him. If he survives, Henry is in his mid-60s, British, and quite intellectual.

What is it all about? Well, something relating to a conversation we had in the pub 35 years ago has come to spectacular fruition, and I'd like him to know how right he was.

If you know somebody who could be this man, please put him in touch with me. Thank you.
