Nothing like a nice cuppa tea (no milk!) on a sunny winter's weekend morning.

A2, 35mm (35mm equivalent), 1/10 sec at f/6.3, ISO 64, tripod.

Hmm. we learn a lot about you....

nearsighted (glasses), buying cheap monitors (nec), bad taste (ugly flowers on teacup, bad program on tv computerscreen), old-fashionned (outdate telephone), and probably overweighted (too many things to eat visible here).

I suppose you are posting PAWS all the time, No ???

That pretty much sums it up. Oh, and ugly. But you couldn't tell from this picture, so you stilll get a straight A for sleuthing.

Not all the time. Only whenever I notice the forum's front page is a little short in PAW threads, I'll throw in a couple.

Trust our very own in-house Sherlock Holmes to get in their first with his elementary deductions Gideon ;-) He's not left anything to deduce!

I like my tea with milk but what are those eats? They look a bit like what we call scones in the UK.
I daren't let anyone see my desk - nothing like as tidy as yours.

This is what I like about PAW - it's so random. You never know from one week to the next what it's going to throw up! This week we have bird droppings, saddles, fences, cats, accidents and now your desk!

Nice exposure by the way - you've captured the sunlight perfectly! The lighting is very well balanced and so too is the crop. Very simple but very effective!

Those are cantuccini - Italian almond biscuits. They are hard and crispy, so they can be safely dipped without disintegrating, when nobody is looking.

Well, I'm not impressed by the latest and flashiest phones and screens, Gideon. Give me a nice cuppa (translation: cup of tea) any day. ;-) And some bikkies (translation: biscuits). I like the homey feel of your desk. And I think the pattern on the cup is rather nice, actually. The flowers are morning glories. A very pleasant combination of the comfortable and familiar, with the high tech. Although I don't know why the missus (translation: wife) lets you put that hot cuppa on that wood grain desk without a coaster!

Ignore Reg. He's actually a bot. He has no appreciation of the joy of a cuppa -- with bikkies... for dunking. ;-)

Neither am I! I never replace or upgrade anything unless there is good reason for it. Nonetheless, as it happens, it is not a cheapo screen at all.

Why THANK YOU, Bugzie. It so happens I did choose those cups myself in the shop! :-) And I am a bit old-fashioned, I suppose. At my age I'd be pathetic if I wasn't.

Gave myself away, didn't I. OK, here's the difficult bit: we've been separated for the last couple of months. I'm fine, thank you. And it's not a desk, it's an old coffee table which I use as a makeshift desk until I find a proper desk to my taste. And it's NOT going to be a flashy hi-tech one, I'm going to look in the flea market first, and try to find one with a bit of personal experience to it and some character.

You know, Bugzie, in mixed international company we need to make allowance for different types of humour. I believe Reg was joking, so I just played along with him. I would be left speechless if I thought he weren't joking...

Glad you liked my idea, 'cause I like yours! Maybe others will join in and turn this into a "My Desk" thread? Let's see where this gets us - Lynne's PAW has already made it to PAW #3!

Now, let's see. Bourbon and pipe. Much more manly than my homely tea and cookies. I have to ask, though, what is in that jar next to the bottle?

Congratulations on your new tripod. Seeing that this is a 1/2 sec exposure, it has already proved useful.

The Bourbon is there because I have been taste testing single batch sipping bourbon, normally in cabinet. The Jar..green lid holds pipe tobacco....some 40 yrs now.
P.S. ever try (a tad) bourbon, Brandy or Scotch in your porridge?
