You are going to need the BEST lenses, zooms are going to be majorly soft at the edges.

Battery usage is more than likely gonna be nasty..

Please correct me if I'm wrong :)

I think It's a bit premature to say this without seeing the specs. I'm excited since I resisted buying the current crop of non FF sensor sized SLR's. When I do buy it will be a FF if what you say isnt true.

S what? Same "softness" full-frame bodies (e.g., EOS1V, EOS3) deal with. It's like: whatch what you wish for, cause yo may get it...

Who knows? 300 shots instead of 500? Again... so what?
Please correct me if I'm wrong :)
I just did.

...a battery-consuming CCD.

And those Canon lenses have been illuminating full-frame
sensors...35mm film...for decades.
Yes, but some have been using lower grade lenses due to the 1.6 factor, you are using only the sweet spot, now we will be back to having to buy the best glass if we want to continue with the same sharpness that we have had in the past.

IMHO that is why a lot of pros on this forum have stayed with top glass, it will always work, and others will now need to upgrade both their cameras and their lenses.

This is one reason I wished for a 1:3 camera. The other is I LIKE the multiplier for my lenses.

I'm certainly not the guy who can explain it, but there has been a lot of discussion suggesting that there are issues with the different ways sensors accept incoming light-rays (compared with film) that may be of concern.

Yes you are correct...now that you have the full sensor, weaker lens designs will rear their faults...you can bet on that. You will need Canon's finest glass...but like someone else said on this thread all full size 35mm film cameras display this behaviour. We have escaped it with th smaller sensor to date.

A much bigger issue IMHO is light near the edges of the full size sensor. This to me is a very serious issue. Contax solved it by requiring larger lenses (MF?). Nikon and Canon seem to have a different solution...at least we hope, lest we toss out our existing lenses and use some new lens designs not yet introduced.

Please follow the thread I started on the ProDigital Forum:
