Show your Up-In-The-Mountains photos

I think we start referring to hills as "mountains" when they reach 800 or 900 feet from their base.

Of course it depends on where you are. In Michigan, 900 feet is a mountain. In Colorado, 900 feet foothill.

The first photos looks very scary. The second very pleasant.

Love the panorama.
Ed: I too love the shot, but the colors are much too oversaturated for me.

Good photo

It is a great part of the country. We spent a couple of days there and did a number of walk and tracks in the park. We were there in March which is late summer and it was 2 degrees C with very changeable weather.

The Tararuas, a large area for hiking in the North Island of New Zealand.

Am I allowed to post a non Sony picture here? If not let me know and I'll retract my post!

Heavily cropped from a Canon G10 - looks OK to me, but not brilliant for 100% pixel peepers!

Yes, you are correct. This was done with a P&S (Sony DSC-S85). However, the camera was set on Auto - no special scenes or anything. I know many cameras of this type over saturate to various degrees. Here is one of the three original panels - only resized. It is less saturated. So, the over saturation was due, IMO, to my raising the shadows & overall exposure a bit w/o correcting the saturation. All that said, I agree that it is over saturated, but not "much too."

Thanks for the response. I'll try to do some correction.
