Hi! I'm looking for 70-200mm lens for indoor and outdoor shot, and I'm a k10d user. Could you guys tell me which one is better between SIGMA 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM Macro II and Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8?

??? where is the evidence supporting this statement please ?The k10d is known to have focusing issues with SDM/HSM lenses.
3rd option for you to consider... Pentax DA*60-250/4, it's a brilliant lens for landscape photography. I use it on a K10D. it's approx 350g lighter than the sigma, 60mm vs 70mm will be helpful indoors, on the -ve side it's more £££Hi! The FA* zoom is likely the best closely followed by the discontinued non-macro Sigma non HSM 70-200mmHi! I'm looking for 70-200mm lens for indoor and outdoor shot, and I'm a k10d user. Maybe more accurate AF calculations are possible with HSM? I remember this being stated about the DA 55mm when it came out. The run end to end of the SDM AF was slower than the end to end run of the screw driven FA 50mm f1.4, but people thought it focused faster as the 55mm didn't do the triple stop focus adjustment of the FA 50mm. The DA 55mm was said to simply just go to the spot needed for focus and stop.If the Tamron has better contrast than the Sigma why does it hunt more in low light .??
The two statements are diametrically opposed you cant have lower contrast but better AF stability.
Phase sensitivity is directly related to contrast.
I thought about that as well but as far as hunting goes I don't think it can apply.Maybe more accurate AF calculations are possible with HSM? Yep I'd agree that its the only one I can think that may have some mileage.Anyway that's the only reason I could come up with.

Depth of field is dependent on subject distance. If you're shooting events, concerts or sports (typical 70-200mm usage), it's normal to have a subject distance of 10m or more. At 10m, the DoF for 200mm and f/2.8 is around 30cm, which is more than usable!3rd option for you to consider... Pentax DA*60-250/4, it's a brilliant lens for landscape photography. have a look at dofmaster to see how narrow the DoF is at 2.8 then think about how usable a 70-200/2.8 is for your style.
just my 2d worth

I can only comment on the Sigma on a K200d, havn't tried the Tammy. (Rented from http://www.cameralensrentals.com they have both lenses for rent too, FYI!)
My copy of the Sigma was soft at 2.8, better at 3.5, but not really sharp till f4. I ended up shooting my friends concert at f4 and 800ISO, and had some issues with motion blur that I had hoped to avoid.
On the plus side the HSM is VERY quiet and seemed to be accurate on my K200d. It is a big heavy bugger and holds quite steady as well.
I enjoyed the lens but wasn't converted to buying it.
AFter using it for a week and a concert, I have side stepped to looking at the Pentax 60-250 and Sigma 100-300 to meet my tele needs. Or possibly even the Bigma.
