Please, i use a cp 995 with remote control mc eu1. Do you know if it will be possible to use interval less than 2 minuts in mode "A" or "B"

thanks

Actually, Nikon doesn't 'advertise' the serial port, but the 995 does indeed have one. The MC-EU1 is also a serial port controller!

The only Coolpix cameras that don't have a serial port are the 775, 2000, and 2500. I'm not compeltely sure about the new 4300 though.

We know for sure that the DigiSnap 2000's work fine with all of these cameras.

CP900, CP950, CP990, CP995, CP4500
CP700, CP800, CP880, CP885, CP5000, CP5700.

Note that the MC-EU1 does NOT work with the 900, 950, 700, 800.

Mark
The MC-EU1 is limited to a 120 second minimum interval...

The DigiSnap 2000 remote controller series do not suffer from this
absurdity!

Any plans on making a Digisnap version that connects via USB to both computer and camera any time soon? Serial ports are at a premium on my machine. The connections on them are ones that I don't enjoy having to remove nor use with a switch box.

Not terribly interested in a solution that requires an adapter, as I did see you had something like this on your site.

I just purchased the Digisnap 2200. Wow! what a machine...I bought the 2200 instead of the 2000 so I could REALLY go remote! I'm using the Pocket wizard Plus (wireless) with the 2200 and the combination has opened a whole new world of photographe for me!

Except for the 880 and 990, I don't think the coolpix cameras are controllable via USB. Also, developing a USB 'host' is a low cost, portable package isn't gonna happen in the forseeable future!

I hate to see all of the movement away from serial ports in PC's, etc... they are a dirt cheap and simple way to communicate, without having to have an entire operating system and watts of CPU power behind them to work as a host.

Hi Mark Roberts ,

I have a CP 5700 and I was wondering whether your Digisnap 2XXX would allow me to do the following:

1. a timed exposure of say 10 sec, zoomed from max tele to 35mm after five sec.

2. reverse-zoom from max tele to wide during a 5sec exposure at say f/5.6

I tried on the Nikon remote without success.

cheers

Hi George - where did you purchase the PW+? How much? Looking to using the same configuration on my CP5700.

Thanks for the info.

Sorry, no can do!

I'm considering some sort of scripting process, whereby you'd be able to take a picture, change the zooom, take another, change teh exposure, etc., but there are a lot of projects to finish before that one even get's started. I don't belive it will be possible to do a zoomed exposure either... the camera itself will probably not allow that.
