A230 cheapest DSLR ever @ £299.00 ??

So in the UK these cameras may now actually sell at the prices that they were originally designed to sell at ? The main reason why sales to date have been slow is that the original launch prices were too high.

The A200 kit was selling for about £250 as far back as May.

I'm sure Jessops cleared out their silver Nikon d40 at £190 last year.

Dixon's tax free airport shops also sold the A350 at £290 after cashback last christmas. I know because I bought one before flying on Christmas eve (now replaced with an A700).

To be fair Vaughan was talking about current DSLRs not obsolete models. It is also true , however, that right now anyone wishing to buy a currently available model that there are cheaper , decent DSRs in the shops.

It is also true that anyone who has concerns about some of the missing features on the 230 series & is dithering over value for money issues that a timely price reduction before Christmas may well help to tip the balance in Sony's favour !
