I am thinking about buying a magnifier to use with my K100. I wear glasses and I find myself all too often sticking my face to the LCD screen.
Would that help? anyone having same experience?

Thanks

... and I find it great.

It does somewhat cover the lower display in the viewfinder. But that doesn't bother me, given my style of shooting (and with some eye-shifting I can check the display).

It does allow for more space between the nose and the LCD, but maybe not enough for what your purposes.

As a manual focusing aid it is great, more so for longer focal lengths. Nevertheless, for manual focusing, I'd say an improved focusing screen (such as a Katzeye) has a much greater impact (yet I'.

Nevertheless I've found that exchanging the focusing screen has much more impact. I bought a Katzeye and discovered that I have to refine my focusing skills to match the much more precise focusing screen.

Cheers,

It would help. It is not necessarily a cure-all for the noseprint problem, but it does help. The larger view is also a definite improvment. I don't usually wear eyeglasses, although my eyesight isn't perfect uncorrected and I do own a pair.

Depending on your glasses and face, you may not quite be able to see all the corners of the frame with the magnifier in place without moving the camera around. It mainly has to do with how far away the outer surface of the glasses lens is from your eyeball. I seem to barely be in the "see everything" category with my current frame design and perscription.

It's not a huge difference in viewfinder magnification, but I do find I get more keepers with than without. As others have said, glasses-wearers like us do have to get used to not being able to see the entire viewfinder and status display at once. And you trade nose-prints on the LCD for magnifier-prints on your glasses. Still, worth the $40 if you do much MF, I think. I wouldn't get one just to solve the LCD nose-print problem, though.
