a few shots with M6 and 'cron 35 ASPH

First one is very cute (maybe you want to avoid cutting off the hand next time).

Enjoy your new gear!

Best regards,
Jarle

Christos, I love the look of the 35 Cron ASPH - After having one very shortly, I need to have it back.

Your 1st frame (lovely indeed) really shows, what I want from this lens - perfect DOF @ f2 for rather closeup shots with just the right field of view for a wonderful out of focus scene in the background. This is a must have lens (and I have heard, it resolves quite some detail too, if needed).

When I brought my Hong Kong trip film to the lab, I had a short look into one of the used Leica shops (today I can pick up the negs - yuhuuuh, looks like some night scanning today ;-) ).

This Shanghai dealer had no less than 12 used samples (!!!) of the ASPH Cron on display, ranging between 1.200 − 1.450 EUR. I wish, I had a digital M for testing the samples, when buying.
I think, I have a hard time to resist the call this time.

What is a good going price for a nice "excellent" sample with box these days?
A new sample was offered to me in Hong Kong for apr. 1.500,- EUR lately.

Thank you all for your comments,

I got that virtually as new copy of 'cron 35 asph from ebay for about €1300. I thought it was a bit pricy but according to your research that one could be considered a good deal.

You are right about the first shot; I should have shifted it a bit down left to get a better frame... Basically, that is my second roll (first b&w) with my new gear so I was not paying much attention to composition. Mostly, I was trying to find out how does the lens renders under different situations... Fortunately, b&w film is very forgiving and I am also surprised about ilford's tonality...

In general I could say I am very happy about both the body and lens. I am very pleased with the M6 focusing system which is very accurate! I only have to get used to it so I will have the chance to concentrate more on composition than on focusing....

regards

Are those scans of the negs or of prints? Some info on the scanner+software would be helpful too.
