A discussion about PAW?

Personally I like PAW, because of the honest comments regarding the work presented by very experience and talented people..it improves my photography.

One question please, the PAW numbering has me confused at times, I'm never sure where to start counting from...to be sure?? Perhaps using a calender week number (1-52) may simplify?

Gideon,

I understand that you like it , and that you and some other would hate to see it stopping.
I can't moan because I've been inactive for months. But I was very active for four years before that and yes, I'd be sorry to see PAW stop.
But ask yourself the question: is a forum about gear the place to create your game with your rules ? Why not asking DPreviews for a PAW forum (which could be used with any camera for instance?)
Well, I asked myself and just got the answer: yes. In this forum, a forum about old gear from a long-gone manufacturer - the answer is yes. This "game", as you call it, has kept the forum alive for three years, so that gear-oriented subjects could also be posted and still have a chance to be seen by anyone. Over those years I answered (and started) plenty of non-PAW threads as well, but I don't think I would have remained a regular forum member if not for PAW.

No need to ask DPReview for a PAW forum. There are endless other suitable forums on the web. You are missing the point (our point, which I know you disagree with): it is exactly because PAW flourished on this forum that PAW gained its importance.
It seems to me that your initial intention to activate or to save the KM forum is having exactly the opposite effect. With all your good intentions, you turned it into a PAW forum.
So sorry, then. I had no idea that my over one hundred PAWs and thousands of posts over these years would have such an adverse effect. What was I thinking.
I hope we can disagree on this forum whilst preserving peace and friendship.
Sure. As PAW looks to be dying anyway, why don't you take the wheel, skipper, and steer her in the right direction. If I like the new course, I might even consider staying on the crew. No, really. I was considering rejoining the forum, just want to see where it's going now.

Thanks. I'd been wondering what all this PAW business was about.

Was it meant to be limited exclusively to KM cameras?

Nooo Renato,

that was dropped long since, especially after the KM demise... any make of camera is welcomed.
Use whatever camera you have and post a few shots.

Hi, Fred!

I was thinking of calling it This Week and the date of the post does the rest. No cryptic acronym or confusing numbers - very straight-forward title easily understood by newbies, and the rule is inherent in the title.
