Canvas Paper for Canon S9000

I get mine at Best Buy. You will find however that the S9000
will print on just about any canvas paper. Try the Office Depot
canvas...it is less expensive and produces a nice result.

I've been experimenting with texture filters and think this picture
would look nice printed on a canvas paper. Just wondering is using
the Sandstone Filter + textured paper would be a good idea. I've
never printed on textured paper. Any recommendations for where to
buy Canon Canvas Paper?

Very nice Isabel, I've been playing with filters also. It's amazing what you can do with filters.

I hadn't even noticed Office Depot had canvas, I'll have to check it out.

Canon sells it at their site, but according to their compatibility chart none of it will work with the S series. I've been wanting to try something like this myself.

Hi,

Has anyone used the OD canvas on the S9000. I have played with it, but have no idea what settings to use. My first attempt looks like it went through the washing machine about 20 times! The colors are fine, but it is very washed out.
Also has anyone used OD iron-on transfers?

Make sure that you print on the right side of the paper. There is two sides and the first print I got was washed out , turned it over and reprinted....great results.

Thanks for info. Who could guess that Office Depot sell canvas?
Do you know what formats they have?

I have some experience using 8x11 canvas sheets for painting-like effect, playing mostly with Dry Brush and Pallet Knife Photoshop filters. My old HP 720C is not so perfect on glossy paper but on canvas it produce outstanding result. Note that printout with the Plane Paper printer setting is not that soaked with ink as would be with Deluxe Photo Paper setting.

Next day, when printout is completely dry, I’m coating it with semi-heavy clear acrylic paint using firm brush. I trace every curve, every single element, as I would be using color paint doing real artwork. Don’t afraid if you will put it heavy. When acrylic will dry, that will just increase impression of the “painting” by texture impact. Good, expensive looking frame (for $5 from Pick-n-Save) have to ad more value to the concept.

Using this technique I “created” many pictures in impressionism style, that surprise my guests or friends. This is a great way to make present for a birthday or for some other occasion. Just use your fantasy… If you have a digital camera do pictures of family members. It such a fun!
