Well lately I have been having trouble with finding time and weather to shoot much. This week has been cloudy and rainy, as the northwest tends to get, but there have been breaks and I have finally had time to get out and try a few. Well the color here in WA has been amazing and made for some nice images. I have a bunch that still need processing and I will throw them up here and there, but these are two of my best ever and I wanted to get some feedback on these soon. Both taken with the E510 and kit lenses, handheld, in North Bend, WA.

Let me know what you think!

I'm not really digging the color of the first image so much. Was this done in post or with some sort of colored filter? The second image on the other hand is in a whole other league as far as I'm concerned. That's a gorgeous image if ever there was! I think I would certainly have had to spend some time on that stretch of road/driveway to make sure I captured it from every possible angle...

Very, very nice. I'm not sure about the sepia-ish choice for the first one, but I like the tones and composition a lot!

The second one could for sure be offered to getty or some other stock photo company. It looks so "picture perfect." Like a windows background or something...

Experience is what you get seconds after you need it.

It was done post processing. I only have iPhoto and don't really like the Sepia finish too much so I played with the tones. I was actually pretty happy with it, going for a rustic feel. I didn't get the feel with the color in the photo and felt that finish was best. Here is one that I didn't PP at all, almost identical... I just don't like this one as much.

Thank you for the kind words on the second!

I think both of these are great! Love the old barn. The trees are gorgeous and you did a great job.

Have you tried downloading Picasa from Google? It's a free photo editing/organizing software that does a very good job of doing basic PP.

The second is a classic fall shot, which does not make it any less beautiful. I'd be proud of that, too!

It looks like you had some gorgeous light in the first one, but I don't care for the toning: I'd either go for a straight b&w, or work on the color version to get the most out of the lighting conditions.

The second one is aesthetically perfect, a calender picture that you probably will have forgotten by the time next year's calender arrives. The first one is exciting and the sepia is a plus compared to the original. Engaging. Makes you feel a little bit uneasy, you will remember that one.
