Did not get a chance to see any of my son's soccer games this season and they ended up in the Championship playing for 1st place! I made the game and took some pic's with my trusty D2H, 70-200VR and no flash.

They won and I'm so glad I got to see this one.

Dear Fred, how quaint of you to post some photos you took with a truly antique camera that just has none of the capabilities of all the new bodies. Looks like you got lucky as some of the photos are barely acceptable by today's standards lol! Thanks for posting- Owen

I've noticed the more I shoot teenagers with my old trusty D2h, the better chances I get of getting strange color shifts in the hair area.

Odd.

I keep telling my wife a D3(s) (x) will cure this, but she isn't going for it.... :(

To the OP, great shots!

You can really tell the difference in DOF and quality from your 70-200 and my war-horse 70-210. I'm jelous! Hoping to get the 180mm F2.8 to help next sports season myself!
 
Nice pics. Nice that they play mix, do they ask for a % of girls per team?

Even thought you like the camera, its often the photograph who still count most. And you make the camera results look great.
 
Hello Owen and thanks! Those darn old camera's grow on Ya don't they. The D300 has saved me a couple of times with low light but alot depends on your shooting style. Anything works as long as it says Nikon on it.
