Hello,

I've just ordered an E620 for my daughter who lives out of the country and need to purchase a CF Card for her also. I notice the specs call for a type I or II. Not sure what that refers to? I'm thinking a 4 or possibly 8 GB but want to make sure it's the right one so she's not e-mailing me saying the thing won't work. I was thinking of the San Disk Extreme III but I'm not sure if this is type I or II? Kind of clueless here. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Type 1 cards are tho old, original CF cards.

Type II cards are thicker, and I havent noticed anything that was type II except a couple of Microdrives I had around (and got rid of).

Type I or II isnt anything you need to worry about with a new camera.

DO NOT BUY CF CARDS FROM EBAY SELLERS.

E-Bay sellers are known to sell cheap junk cards with counterfeit labels, and the cards usually dont work.

I do not have E-620, but with my former E-500 and my present E-3, Sandisk Extreme III works fine - 4 of my 6 CF-cards are Extreme III (2, 4 and 8 GB), the remaining two - one Extreme IV and one Lexar 300x (both 4 GB) for sequential shooting.

I have a 520 and the seller suggested a Sandisk Extreme III. At the time it had a rebate, so I bought it. It has worked fine these past six months.

I wonder if at the time of the camera launch the IIIs were in existence or not. Maybe the IIs were the latest, so they recommended those and never updated the camera's product info.

Hi,

Just to jump on this. I bought the extreme IV 8GB as I plan to get the E-620 early next year, and didn't want to buy old tech.

I gained 3 seconds on burst mode shooting RAW.

I was surprised, as the E-400 is older. I expect the improvements of the IV over the III will be better on the E-620.

Only apllicable, of course, if you need the speed.

+1 on avoid Ebay. Here in China I take my camera or netbook and test everything before I buy. I've avoided bad copies this way, much to the "surprise" of the sellers.
