Hello,

I am trying thi snew version from silkypix : where I can find some tutorials on it.
do you use this software and what do you think of this one compare to C1 and lr3
Thankes you for your advices

I cannot compare it to C1 but Silkypix and LR 2.5 are my main raw developers. LR has by far the better interface but sometimes I prefer the SP output.

Usually I change very little in Silkypix because unlike LR it reads Sony RAW files much better. My most common workflow is very simple - auto exposure, auto WB, fitting colour profile and a little extra contrast. After that I finish it off in Photoshop. Sometimes you have to be a little careful with auto WB though.

I'm no fan of SP UI - so I rarely use the advanced features.

Silkypix has been my RAW converter/processor since the KM 7D. I've tried several others since then ( includind LR, C1 and DXO ) and always end up coming back to Silkypix for its colors. It took a whilw to get used to the UI, though. I upgraded from SP 3.0 to Pro three weeks ago.

Always having fun with photography ...

Silkypix still the king of colors, but it did not evolve much as the demosaic algorithm, anti-noise and highlight recovery still poor for today standards, so for low ISO it is ok.
C1 is better and LR3 looks promising, LR2.x is crap.

I use most C1 and RawTherapee, not much Silkypix.

They all have trial versions and RT is free.

Jerome,

Have a look at the Silkypix forum,

Also this thread may be of interest,

There is also an e-book for V3,

For an interesting comparison check Adrian's thread on the KM forum,

In the latest version of SP most functions have a yellow info tab that pops up if you leave your mouse over the function. The tab has a blue and white help button. If you press this (before the tab disappears) you will see context sensitive help.

I can't compare SP to C1 or lr3 but I find SP far better and less complex than ACR. I also find that the latest versions (V4 and Pro) are good improvement over V3.
