Why is my focus off?!?!

I think I can see a small speck of dust some 6-7cm to the right of the tip of the plant. I see no reason why shots like these would be banned! For me personally, there's maybe too much nothing' in the right side of the image, but it's a great shot nevertheless.

Despite of that I've seen (as others) a lot of dragonflies shots, every new great shot still impress me, as yours do. They still give to photographers new opportunities, as this one presented, posing this unique way.
Great shot, congrats.

'This is not that serious.. let's all have fun'
http://www.jazdzyk.nazwa.pl/akar/photo/intro.html Take a look!

Also for the dust bunny alerts :-)

But maybe I should post 3,5 of the same images to the PPG to keep the standards up there?

:-) All featured with a dust bunny here I believe, I'll get back to the originals!

Too bad that dragonflies are banned from the PPG nowadays ;-)
I certainly hope not. This is a gem of an image. One of your best. :-)
K20D with A* 200/4.0 macro

Maybe I should submit the HDR version of the same image?
LOL. Now, now, now. Play fair. ;-)

Beautiful. So how did you get the dragonfly to pose so that it's giving the "finger" to the PPG?

Thanks. I admit I wanted to take the high ground but i could not help laughing out loud when I saw you post whether the slight poke was intended or not.
On a serious note this is a very nice shot!

I have always marvelled at insects especially dragonfly's as I dont see the larger ones that often. When i do see them it is the details of the body and head which amaze me. Macro always takes me into a smaller world and freezes moments otherwise missed by our eyes. The shallow depth of field blurs away distractions that often take away from the scene and allow me to focus on what seems like an alien world right beneath our eyes.

...sorry everyone but where was this shot taken? Perhaps it was nearby an old desolate abandoned warehouse Lol

....Sorry i kid i kid! That was a cheap shot I know boooo to me but it was a tiny bit fun..
Cheers

.

:)

Combining dragonflies and industrial decay with a washed-out red or sepia cast in PP would make you a brilliant artist rebel!
