Hello!

I've recently been experiencing print issues with my i9900, more specifically, I was getting some banding streaks across the image with various colors.

Originally, I thought I had a clogged printhead so cleaned it several times with no improvement.

I find out later that my [older] ink carts (I refill them) could be partially clogged causing a flow problem, did a quick drip test and that seemed to be the problem so I bought new carts.

Once new carts were installed I printed an image and it seemed to work fine.

At closer inspection, I did see some banding again so I found instructions to enter into 'service mode' so that I could run an 'extended nozzle check pattern'. I did the test (supposedly this test shows if any specific printhead holes are clogged) and I haven't had a normal print since. :upset:

Here's an image of what Im getting, any input would be great!

I have an i9900,, sent it in for repairs,, doing all kinds of strange stuff,, I refill too.. all they said was a plugged print head,, replace it and now every thing is just fine.. they did say to not use refills,, but the ones they put in were terrible,, put my old ones back in and they work fine. Have had no more problems since,, I think the print head was like $70 or therebouts. Might be a reasonable way to go,, I ran lots of cleanings etc. and no luck but replacing the head worked,, DAve

TY for the reply, just thought it'd be a good idea to post up the root cause of what was troubling my printer, since that may help someone later.

The contacts behind the print head were apparently dirty, I cleaned both sides and it seems to be working normally again.

Hi:

I have a i9900 and have been printing many hundreds of perfect prints for over 2 years. I also refill, still using the original print head.

A web site you might want to visit is: http://www.nifty-stuff.com/forum/ . Do a search on i9900 and you will find answers to all of your questions including very detailed refilling methods.

I use Hobbiecolors ink which you buy on ebay and Costco paper. I calibrate my monitor and see exactly the same colors from monitor to printer.

Hopes this helps.

I think some of you might still be replying to my original post, I replied yesterday to share what the problem was just in case someone has similar symptoms in the future.

TY to all!
