I am looking for wrist strap recommendations. I picked up the Canon 7d and I am use to the Canon wrist strap I use with my 20D, but i would like to use the 7d without a batt grip.

I got a cheap wrist strap last year for my 30D to try it out and to be honest I've almost given up on it. It makes shooting vertical really tricky. You can't do it with your hand in the strap so you end up loosing time taking the weight and extracting your hand, before you can turn the camera.

I like the idea but the reality doesn't seem to live up to it. Or am I alone in thinking that?

(Looks like mine's a copy of the Opteka posted previously)

I do not have any issues with that right now. I have mounted the 7D to a monopod with the mount on the botton without any problems. I like the Opteka for several reasons:

1. The price $10.00

2. I can tighten it to fit my hand close to the camera. This helps me "hang on" - I have small hands and I have upgraded from a Rebel Xti.

3. It doesn't get in my way for vertical shots, but that may just be a personal thing.

Now, if I had the BG-E7, obviously I'd have to use something else.

The other strap shown in this thread wouldn't work for me because it doesn't look like it can be adjusted tightly to the hand.
Do you have any issues with the size of the mount on the bottom?

+1 for the Camadapter and Strap... Unfortunately, they don't seem to carry the Kidskin leather type anymore, though I'm sure the Top Grain leather would be just as good.
