Well i went for a little drive to get some fall colours in an area with more change-over then the local area...

Hey Mike, that's nice images...can you give me the details on where this area is, especially the viewing platform? I have a feeling it's around the edge of Algonquin territory.

...seems just soft enough it would attract criticism if it was presented as best IQ from a lens. Those that are least affected seem slightly over sharpened.

Also, my mind still has an unsettling feeling that the dynamic range just isn't what I expect in a photo - whether it's realistic to the eye or not - although a lighter touch can sometimes produce impressive dynamic range.

Some really nice pictures have been presented in HDR-style, but am I the only one imagining the 'King has a transparent new suit' or do others agree there's a subtle alignment issue yet to be resolved with this technique?

That is a beautiful series of series Mike, my favourites atr hard to pick but I would have to rate all of part equal and the in camera HDRs are also stunning.
