7D Intermediate (1/3 stop) ISOs - Question

Sorry if this is answered already; I tried a quick search.

Are the intermediate (e.g., 125, 160, 250, 320, 500, 640, etc.) ISOs on the 7D mathematical pushes and pulls from the main ISOs, as in the 30D -> 50D, or is something else going on?

If they are like the 30D-> 50D, then I presume the read noise issues (although diminished) will be the same; pushes bad, pulls good?

I haven't seen any samples from the 1/3-stop ISOs. Most of the RAW samples linked to so far have been with the "main" ISOs. Now that many people have cameras in hand, we might tell.

Note: Canon has never had real 1/3-stop gains at an early stage; if the 7D had them, it would be a first for Canon.

I don't know. I was a late (sept 16) pre-orderer at Amazon, but if any of the NYC stores have cameras for store sale, I will get one there, and cancel the Amazon one. I bought both my 50D and 5D2 by walking into a store when they were in short supply, and back-ordered in other stores.

If I get one with heavy ISO 100 banding, I will gladly swap it plus $20 for one without the banding. I know there are lots of people who think the banding is unimportant, and can use $20!
