I'd posted something on this the other day thinking I had a problem with Custom Function 2...but now, even afer a call to Canon service, I'm not so sure.
Can someone chime in here and tell me what happens on your D30/D60 when you press the * button if you have Custom Function 2=2?
According to what has been published elsewhere, when Cfn2=2 "the AE lock button ( ) now functions as an AF lock instead. This setting is sometimes preferable in AI Servo when your main subject is temporarily blocked by another subject..."
In other words, according to the above, when I've got Cfn2=2 I'm to achieve initial focus with a half press to the shutter button...and then I'm supposed to be able to LOCK the focus with a press to the * button. (I'm assuming the behavior would be the same whether in AI Servo or One Shot mode?)
My question is...after pressing the * button, aren't I supposed to get some kind of indication that focus has been locked? Something like the green dot staying lit? As it is now, I don't get any indication that anything is happening at all.
Can someone tell me what happens on your D30/D60?
Thanks,
-Taz
