What do you think the price of the D700 going to be in the next few months? Up or down?
 
No. If and when Nikon replaces it with a D800 or D700s, the 700 will simply cease at or near the current price point. You might be able to get a used one at 2000 in a year though.

Hi all,

I've been shooting with a Nikon D70 and a kit lens for a while now and I'm thinking about moving up to a more advanced DSLR. Of all the DSLR's out there, I find the D700 quite intriguing because it combines a full frame sensor, pro features, and a reasonable price tag.

Do you all think I should go for the D700 now at around $2450 (Amazon) or wait for its successor?
