I just purchased the LX3 at B&H for $499.00. Sales guy told me they got a few in within the last hour

Thanks!

I just ordered one myself. On a side note, B&H is delivering my ZS3 today...
Now, how do you hide a second camera from the wife? LOL

Thanks for the tip. I had been sitting on the fence hoping for the price to drop or a new model to be announced, but then you realize that time and photo ops are rushing by. So I ordered mine and it's on it's way. No sales tax and free shipping certainly helps, and then there's the firmware update to look forward to.

Yes, at least in the U.S. anyway, and at a fair price. It's as if Panasonic underestimated the success and demand for the camera and have to keep making a few more to top up the supply channel - unusual in an age when most electronic products are only produced in a couple of large runs.

wow cool your wife not only doesn't yell at you but she tells you to buy cameras? :)
Thanks!

I doubt that's the reason because frequent small production runs are not very cost-effective, and therefore not overly profitable. The average digicam buyer is not going to spend $500 in the first place, and probably wouldn't know what to do with the LX3's capability if they did. In fact, they would probably be disappointed at the limited zoom range, for example. This product is aimed at serious photographers who need a pocket-sized camera to supplement their DSLR and/or who tend towards reportage style photography. It's a relatively small market and harder to predict with accuracy.

I had a wife once that yelled, but she's long gone years ago!!! I buy what I want and my wife buys what she wants. We look at it like, "you've never seen a U-Haul behind a hearse". So the pension checks come in and the pension checks go out and were both happy. Just our thoughts. :> )

PS: My wife bought a $5000.00 sewing machine.
Thanks!

It's possible to hide them, lol.

I have a Nikon D90 with various lenses, a panasonic FZ28, a TZ7, a LX3 and a FT1.... all bought this year, and my husband has no idea I have them all. I just use the ones he does know about when he is around, and the others when he is not.

See, women can do that stuff, you guys are trickier, us guys always get caught lol :)

Second "NEW" compact camera. I've got a decent share of other cameras not to mention my expensive "glass collection" ;)
