I have two Nikon N80 bodies that I was going to sell on Ebay, but they both feel sticky in the areas where the body is normally held. I have tried several cleaners without success. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Not too familiar with the N80. Is the grip rubberized? Maybe the rubber is deteriorating? Otherwise, I'd give Armor-All a shot. I once made the mistake of trying to clean a camera with this stuff. It made it so slippery that I was worried about getting a good grip. So maybe it will cancel out the stickiness.

Just my 2 cents. :-)

Ive got a few N90S that have the same issue, my next step is to try goo gone on a small spot and see what happens, Ill try to remember to post the results....

I have found a solution. I tried Goo Gone and a Citrus-based degreaser last night and they did not help. I also tried Isopropyl alcohol and it reduced the stickiness some. My final solution is a plastic lens cleaner from General Production Services (Moose Peterson recommends their products). It look a lot of rubbing with several applications using a cotton cloth, but it is gone. I did use a rubber and vinyl conditioner afterwards (apply it and immediately wipe it off) and it improved the feel of the body and the appearance of the grip areas.

Hi Larry. I have a nikon with the same issue. I found this fix on another post and it works! Get a rag, I used an old bandana. Soak it up good with hand sanitizer. Not dripping, just thoroughly involved. Wipe the camera. It doesn't even take any elbow grease. It comes off easily and quickly. I don't know how badly yours is. Mine sat in a bag for about 5 years unused, thanks to phone cameras. This trick worked.
