Watching CD photos on DVD?

My best advice is to look at http://www.vcdhelp.com . Many cd burning programs have slide show and photo album capability. Do you want a menu system? Will you be mixing in video? Do you want the cd's to autorun? Do you have a dvd writer or a cd writer?
I burn with Nero and I've used Roxio's Easy CD Creator 5.

With these applications you can make your own (S)VCDs Photo Albums / Slide Shows and you don't need to convert Your images to MPEG. You can easily add your high resoultions .jpgs/.bmps to the application and it will create the photo album for you that should work on most standalone DVD Players. Note that if you make these still pictures VCDs/SVCDs, the pictures will be in better quality than VCD or SVCD Video because of the higher resolution, DVD resolution 704x480(NTSC) or 704x576(PAL).

kidzgolf: does Easy CD Creator let you burn a disk with pics that will play on a DVD player? I have a CD writer but not DVD writer.

I'm not kidzgolf but I will answer your question. Yes Easy CD Creator does allow this. What you do is make a VCD (video CD). Most DVD will play video CD's. The only catch is some DVD players do not recognize CDR's which is what you are burning your VCD onto.
You can check that VCDhelp website that was noted previously and they do have a cross refrerence. What I would do if you already own EZ cd creator is just go ahead and burn a test VCD and stick it in your DVD player. You will know right away if it will work.

Easy Cd Creator 5 comes with a program called PhotoRelay designed for working with digital photos. You can use PhotoRelay to create a photo album, slide shows, as well as video postcards. With PhotoRelay you can make a self-running CD to share photos. You can also add music tracks.
A lot of what can be played on a DVD player is determined by the DVD's ability to play various formats. Some are very limited. I've been making SVCD's on my cd burner which play without a problem on my Pioneer DVD player.

Dazzle OnDVD does both! It lets you create a slideshow of up to 500 images that will play on a DVD and also backs up the original pictures in the original format. It was included with my 6in1 card reader, but is available separately. See http://www.dazzle.com for info.

I use Slide Show Movie make (Its Free) to make an AVI

Then use TMPGEnc to make a VCD.

I then use Easy CD creator to make a VCD disc. I can then play that on MOST DVD players. Picture and sound quality are very good (not as good as CRT)
An easier way I tried was to use xat.com xatshow all then burn a VCD using Easy CD Creator.
There are many many options including Adobe Premier (probably the best)

Get the camera !!!look for a model that views JPG images without having to convert to VCD. I saw this in a recent PopPhoto article.
A co-worker claimed that the DVD player being sold at Blockbuster for $99 plays JPG images, but I haven't confirmed this.

Hi I just downloaded TVcd and the only problem with it, is if you use Qimage, when you convert the file to keep the attributes attached, TVcd will not accept them and then what you see is your original picture without any corrections. Otherwise its a really nice program and very easey to use.

Just bought an Apex 1100 but I can't seem to make it display JPEGs. It tries to load disc but ends up giving me the message ''no disc''. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Tried it with both CD-RW and CD-R. Any ideas before I return it?

I have the same unit, it plays fine recorded in CD-R but not recorded in CD-WR. Apex has superior models, but more money
