This is a photo of Mt. McKinley i took a couple weeks ago, just wondering which you like better. I won't say my choice right now.

1. Color

2. Sepia

Thanks for your opinions.

The color is better,, for me,,, try a BW instead of a sepia

I think that there is a bit more detail in the Sepia version and the foreground is also brighter, but I just like the color version better. I do wonder if the color one is not a bit on the cool side though.

The warmer colour one gets my vote, lovely shot.

Hi!

I do think that sepia is a different approach, so I like it better, but for me sepia has to have a bit of punch in the contrast, here's my try (hope you don't mind) ;)

Cheers,
Joao

... I probably like the warm color version best.

I enjoy many monochrome landscapes (thank you, Ansel) but the subject has to have a lot more texture than this one, such as having the light source coming more sharply from the side rather than more behind the camera like this shot. A different time of day might make all the difference to swing my vote for the monochrome.

The sepia doesn't work for me very well, I'm afraid. Perhaps a personal bias, but I tend to like sepia when it is done to effect a mood or period of time reflecting the subject. Fine if you want the image to look like it was shot in 1885, otherwise stick to color or monochrome (in my opinion, of course).

So, the Number 4 "warmer color" shot gets my vote for this subject shot at this time of day.

The only test of an image is the satisfaction it gives you. There simply isn't any other test.

I like what you did with #4 Rudiman!! Very nice. I just prefer color fir this type of photo and the warmer tone is much better IMHO. The foreground is also much better.

I really do like the looks of the sepia and the warmer colored one.
