you now have a great camera body, so now get yourself a portrait lens like the 85 1.8 or 1.4, and shoot your daughter with lens wide open so you can isolate her from the background. You will be amazed at the difference. Dave

1+ get a fast prime lens.

the reason that the above pics are soft is the kit lens used, that looks like the 18-55VR el cheapo kit lens, its the softest lens out there.

An 85 1.4 or 1.8 are going to be hard to find and expensive. Pick up a 50 1.8D for approx. Rs6.5k. Great little lens and you can shoot portraits.

Where in the heck did you win a D90 and D300?
Have fun with the new camera.
