We ran a thread like this last year and it was fun.

Say, 2 pics max per person per day?

This one was a mistake, the narrowboat was only doing around 3 knots but I did not notice that the shutter speed was 1/20 sec:

So, do you have a good bad pic to share? . . . :)

Mike

Saw the cat on the window ledge above my bed, she was staring at the moon. This is a quick grab that I probably should have deleted. Too low an ISO and too low a shutter speed, plus lousy metering combined.

Here's another one that isn't very good, but for some reason I like it. Taken early evening whilst driving, of course I just held the camera up without framing so my other hand is seen on the wheel.

Oll an gwella,

Mike, your shot is great. I have never seen a narrowboat go so fast. If a gale had been blowing everyone's hair back to the right it would have been even better!

Thanks Jim, those two are certainly likeable, especially the mysterious cat.

Thanks Jim, I wish I had planned it that way!

This image was taken with a Kodak V1073 pocket cam. The flash is abysmal, some skin features are washed out, the background was not composed, nothing was 'done right'. However, it is the only time that our pet rat and our pet cat were engaged in such a close-quarters, friendly, face-off, and is therefore a treasured memory.

There is a group on flickr with this sort of theme (there are probably 100 groups on flickr with this sort of theme). It is called "Your photo isn't all that great":

I tried posting one to it once but either it wasn't good enough or it wasn't bad enough (probably both). . . . .
LOL . . . they don't appreciate you like we do over here . . . . :)

Among many bad pics I have taken.

First, I was covering a town hall meeting with Colorado Governor Bill Ritter for my blog. I was shooting indoors without flash with my FZ28. The Governor, well, talks with his hands a lot.

Next, I was sneaking around the local railroad yard looking for interesting rail pics. It was a very hot day, and the FZ was zoomed to the max so I could stay out of the way and remain undiscovered. The heat made everything, even quite solid things like GE locomotives, look quite wavy. I can sort of remember things looking like this once or twice back in college.

I took a shot from the hip without having the time to zoom out (LX3) focus, as they were just passing by.
Looks like a good example of framing that somehow draws you into it, breaking all the rules . . .

Yes, the lips are in focus but the hand isn't . . . :)

I love heat haze, I remember a road scene with cars showed by Entropius here a while ago. Very atmospheric.

Here's mine.

Took this in March of '98 on an Olympus OM40 with 28mm @f22 1000th/sec on Kodak iso100

I only had a cople of shots left on the roll so I took this as a way of getting to the end of it - the exposure meter was flashing like mad and it had no right to turn out OK but despite the poor exposure I kind of like it.
