This may be a stupid question, but what do people with heavy-prescription glasses do to use their digital SLRs?

I can't use my viewfinder very well with my glasses on, and the diopter adjustment doesn't even come close to allowing me to use the viewfinder without glasses. Am I relegated to using contacts?

P.S. I use a Sony alpha 300 (will upgrade to 550 soon) because of its excellent Live View implementation. But I'd like to be able to use the viewfinder!

I don't have excessively thick lenses, and the diopter can be adjusted enough that I can get a focused view. BUT I hate having to constantly be taking off, putting on, my glasses when looking through the VF.

Thanks a lot!

You can get eyepiece correctors:

http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&categoryId=8198552921644548861&N=4294965695

I use glasses with my Canon SLR but the diopter adjustment is sufficient for me. However, I have problems seeing the whole of the screen and can't see the exposure data in bright light. I have learned to live with this.

I wear quite thick glasses and my Nikon D40 has sufficient diopter adjustment. I also can't see the focus light so I rely on the "bleep".
