G2 Focus problem?

I find most of the images that I take on my G2 to be soft. Any tips or suggestions?

Could there be a defect or some sort internal adjustment required.

I shoot in high resolution and I do get a green focus square.

Am I just expecting too much.

That should answer all questions ...

I have had the G2 since last February. I'd say that 90 percent of my pictures come out sharp and in focus. ONe thing to keep in mind is that when you are shooting handheld, the shutter speed is a big factor. If the

shutter speed drops below 1/60th of a second, then camera shake can result in a blurred picture which can be mistaken for non sharp focus.

You tend to think with the G2 that you can hand hold the camera and take low light shots just as if you were in bright day light. But remember in low light situations, the shutter must stay open longer to let light into the camera to produce the image. In these instances you need a tripod.

I'm not saying this is the cause of your "soft" pictures but it is possible. Just food for thought.

the guy must be new here.
Just look for focus problem on the site and you'll see a lot of messages.

Jerry I see by your profile this is your first post here, and you may not know of the history that precedes your question.

In short, G2 AF problems are the most popular subject around here, and many of the more seasoned forum participants will wonder why you did not search the archives.

There is also likely to be quite a bit of response to your question by those who can find no fault in the G2 and will consider you a troll. Take no offence, they know not what they do.
