first step in the macro world...

This is my girlfriend first attempt in macro photography:



But she find the D40 + 70-300 vr + close-up 500d to heavy, so she want something lighter for macro (insect, flowers, small animals...).

We have tried the Sigma 105 but the IQ was not as good. The Sigma 150 is also to heavy for her

What would be a good and lighter alternative from the first combo which could give at least the same IQ ?

Here is one from me with the D70 and 70-300vr + close-up macro
Both pictures are slightly pp with iphoto.

Tamron 90 with or without BIM depending upon your camera body.
