not working that well right now?

How will I be notified about the news? I've registered, but...?

I also registered but it appears the registration was a clever way to collect hundreds of thousands of email addresses of potential Leica customers for targeted marketing.

I never received one message from Leica regarding my registration. Nothing in the way of a web URL, password, page to view, etc.. no communication from Leic whatsoever.

The ability to 'see' the shot is more important than the gear used to capture it.

Na the site is defo down not sure if they have pulled it up to the 1pm webcast of if the site just can't handle the volumn of traffic.

Typical really UK web site can never deliver Nikon UK did the same when the D3 came out !

I have a stream up and running. Just revisit the registration page. It'll note that you were pre-registered and bring up the stream (which already appears to be bogged down and it was running perfectly just a few minutes ago).

Not working for me here in the UK. I get the "Congratulations .. successfully registered ... visit us again on 9th" and nothing else. Can't get on Leica's site either.

With all the interest its more like an organic denial of service attack on their servers.. they probably just don't have the server capacity to handle the hits on the site.

It'll be available later.. but still, a follow-up email would have been a good thing.. all of that could have easily been automated with a script/auto-responder.

It's still fun, isn't it?

that's it

then don't create the hype! I'm hoping it's just a hiccup because I have to imagine that, given the hype created by the Leica PR machine, Leica would have beefed-up their servers and used a streaming company that could handle the load.

But seeing how it's after 9am here in NYC, it's looking less-and-less likely. Is anyone at one of the telecasts live-blogging the event?

I can't get there either. Leica UK or .com
No doubt their server can't cope!
