Well - Dat's it Folks - I'm leavin' Olympus-land!

I think I read the GE AF's faster than my PEN.... lucky you cornering the market like that from the rest of us...

I found some Corona gear on line and Oly can not beat $10.00 per case...hey...wait a minute...Corona is a beer....!!!!....never mind...I'm stuck with Oly.....geeeeeeeeeeeeeez...

I found some 800 iso film in the back of my freezer and some tin foil to make a pinhole camera. And it all cost me nothing.
My Oly stuff is on ebay now.
Good Bye Oly - it's sad to see ya go. wahooo.

Lucky thing I looked in my freezer!!

Yeah, those and tiny full frame camera sensors aren't enough for me either. I am going to dump my Oly stuff, get a 3rd mortage, max out several credit cards, and pick me up a medium format camera or bigger! (If Medium is larger than FF, shoudn't FF be called small?).

Yeah, once I get that camera, I'll just need to find a decent size zoom for birding to replace my 600mm equivilent zoom. Let's see on a Hasselblad, I would need a....2000mm lens...oh [email protected] I'll need a crane or something to carry it.

Ben, is it true that the GE has that new FF-XL sensor that's noiseless at ISO 12800? I want one too!
I did read that GE is adapting technology perfected during the development of the M61 Vulcan cannon into their digicams. They have a burst rate of 4000 frames per minute.

I've found some really nice General Electric (GE) brand stuff. Right now I'm planning on purchasing a dozen GE digicams for a total of only $29.95 USD and there's no way that Olympus can compete with that. So don't try and talk me out of it.
Are you going to nail them to a large piece of plywood in a 4 x 3 array?

Wire up all of the shutter buttons in common then with some tweaking and post-processing you could get a super-high pixel count, HDR, high-field depth macro etc. "camera".

;)

I just felt I had to vent 'cause I had lots of gas today - very bloaty, y'know. Venting in a variety of ways helps ;)
And we've blamed the cows for all this climate change! You may wind up in some former VP's slide show presentation.....;> )

You're too funny...you're never leaving...this is punishment for you...you have to stay with us. :)

GE Digicams????

OMG purrlease purlease tell me they have stripped out the transistors and replaced them with lovely glowing valves. Imagine the improvement in picture quality afforded by such a technological retro-advance.

I envy you greatly sir.

Hi Ben

I am shooting Pentax ... and love it .. but there are so many things I Love about Olympus ... and i cant believe the replies to your post!!!!

I am very happy with Pentax ... not least I have a lot of legacy glass and love the waterproofing of my lens and camera in the UK climate ... but if i were ever to move it woud be to oly .... great ideas , great design ...

it is strange from the outside that they made the new Pen ( I had an old one!) with a poor screen + no viewfinder ... but i bet the second one will be a winner !!!

...but I am almost certain you would be the last to leave. You are also not the type looking for a cheapo camera like the GE brand.

Seriously, we all have our reasons to leave or stay, keep multi systems or just one. Personally I don’t feel having more than one system has any points, but I understand some people do like to keep many different systems.

... and don't forget to buy an Olympus microscope on your way out, which will come in handy if you want to inspect the GE sensors ;)
