whats wrong with those nikon people? lol

Ron, you would not want to connect it to a MaxVue or use a camera
lens. The benefit of the D60 and other DSLRs is you can directly
couple the camera body to the scope, eliminating several optical
elements, widening the field, and speeding up the sytem.
Hey Joe, that is one sweet image. Very impressive. Keep on posting! hmm.. maybe I should beg you NOT to post anymore. hehe

I never ask. Much easier to grovel afterward! :)
I'm in the same boat here. I keep seeing image after image that
are truely impressive. Time to lock up the credit cards!!
I have a solution. I'll just ask my wife if its ok to buy it. That
will solve everything !! hmm.. that might not work, because if I
beg her like usual she will probably give in. Haha
Well, maybe it will work for you other guys :)

I made the mistake of asking....... "Hey Honey, I want to buy a D-60" ..... the response "if you want it... get it"

So now I'm in a huge debate with myself. If I get one, do I hang out in CTF with those guys? I've looked in there. They don't have as much fun as we do. ;-)

If I'm not mistaken, there's even a special Nikon Adapter designed just for the CP5000 that connects it to a Telescope!

There are still all those 5000, 995, 990 and others that have a
Bulb mode.

I agree with Gregory. I'm surprised we don't see more reports from
them about astrophotography. Odd.
Gregory

Thats cause the CP5700 doesnt have lens threads so attaching a
telescope would be diffuclt. yet another reason to buy a F707/ now
possiblly F717 ;-).

wow this thread really took off while I was sleeping..lol Edgor if you get the 707 or 717 then your best option is the 40mm maxview eyepiece package made by scopetronics....everyone who is in to this have tried varios setups and this one seems to work the best...plus I was actually impressed with it for use as a regular eyepiece. by the way what exactly happened to your 3000ex....I sold my 3500 in order to purchase the 707 but the casio was an excellent camera...just bad build quality. the reason I ask is that I was thinking of hunting down a broken 3000 that might have a broken lense and trying to make a ccd astro cam with it....if thats your problem maybe you could sell it to me cheap lol
Is it mounted in the afocal method or by an adaptor/attachment to
the telescope?
They have 5 minute exposures at there disposal and not one astro
pic....this forum would be completely covered up...lol
