I was impressed by the features however I think the image quality is good enough for newspaper work PR and wedding not for advertizing and studio
For "some" reasons there are no tests of moer and resolution in the preview.
Better buy a full frame cam and save the extra wide engle lens.

Just curious, why not good enough for studio? Seems to me you can use your lighting of choice and low ISO in such situation, so high ISO noise is not on issue?

You have posted a total of 10 whopping times! Why do people like you think that a major long in business camera company like Canon doesn't know what they're doing? Give it a rest! you don't hold a candle to the engineers at Canon! And you can't spell either :-).

Let's see your work! Do you have any photos to share? I would hazard to guess that you're not very good! But you have a ton of opinions. Typical negative parrot on this forum.

A word of advice from me to you .... learn photography, then post your pics, then question companies like Canon. This will put you in the league of photographers and not just a rookie web expert!

Sorry if I was harsh, but sometimes it's needed!

7D' IQ looks very good comparing to D300! Beat it up by all means. Go check side by side on http://www.imaging-resource.com . I think it is the best crop sensor camera avail. there! And not good for Ads. and Studio?

Hmm. I think you got it backwards.

At low ISOs the 7D image quality will be very comparable to the 5DII (not considering the better DOF control on the 5DII). Resolution is basically identical and there would be no noise issues to consider.

The 7D might be more problematic for PR and wedding, since the 7D high ISO performance will not be as good as on the 5dII.

Are you talking to me Alvin? I suggest you look at this trolls profile and statements first.

Ohhhh... but wait a second... Geezes Murphy, I get... you are a 40D owner aren't you? I would guess that you are like many stubborn 40D owners? Did modern technology and high mega pixels pass you by? How old are you Alvin? Just curious.

You look like somebody with internet access. Then go to imaging-resource.com and compare the resolution chart shot to any other camera. You will find the results amazing. Here (and to trully appreciate it, compare it to the 5000D):

--And I can't wait to get my fat hands on my brand new 7D. We go through this same BS every time a new camera is announced. this goes back to my days with the G2 Nikon 5700 it does get to be a pain.

If I recall correctly people complained about the 5DMkII picture quality based upon the early pre production release photos. certainly the Canon photo site has never done anything to suggest PQ is high, nor has DP review's samples.

I'd reserve judgement until real bodies go out and real photos show up. if it is as good as my 50D it will certainly be good enough for most any work. Cannot over react to a few jpgs shwoing up right now.

Romy,

Hoping you get your space in line reserved for the 7D.. have always admired and respected your work as have many others here. Learned to love my own backyard birds last december and as I go broke feeding them, I still dream of making my 50D look as good as your 20d shots :) Have afeeling when your 7D does arrive many will discovers it is up to their own talent as far as how good it will look ( unless of course Canon has managed another fiasco ). Bad news is if I buy the 7D I probably cannot blame the Af on getting really sharp photos of the bird's shoulder and not the head/eye! John

Hallelujah... :-)... and anybody with half a brain knows that the 7D will be better in EVERY respect than the 50D!, and WAY better than the 40D.... lol (of course). EVERY Canon digital camera has progressed!

Geeses Murphy, for the second time, it ain't rocket science people! Every new digital SLR is better than the previous one. Get used to it! I can't afford the 7D right now but in a year or 2, I will upgrade without one iota of hesitation!

It's not a wedding camera - no way Jose!
no no, of course not, God forbid !! .. but it's not a one night stand either.. we can call it a mistress as for now ;-)

(but if you ever have wed a 1.6x camera look at your prenup.. this is another ball game ;-) )

This just in from Canon:

Chuck Westfall called a press conference to announce the following, regarding the now-infamous 7D:

"Contrary to our previous statements, we never asked any photographers what they wanted, but instead rummaged around in our dumpster for some leftover parts, cobbled them together, slapped a "7D" badge on the resulting mess and decided to shove it down the throats of innocent photographers who neither want nor need it. It's a strategy that has worked for us in the past, and in fact enabled us to best Nikon and become the top-selling camera company in the world.

"However, we can no longer live with ourselves and this pattern of deception. In true Japanese tradition, our entire R&D department has committed seppuku, we have closed our factories, and beg forgiveness for our numerous and unforgivable crimes.

"Now if you'll excuse me, I have a date with a samurai sword..."

To which I can only add, burn in heck, you inglorious bustards...

Who are you addressing?
the mustards or the -astards ?
Canon or the ungratefulls ??
:-)

EDIT after trying to write (the-letter-after-a, aka beta)astards I understand more what you say.. but I have not seen the movie yet but normally I like Brad Pitt movies.

Nothing like using an old account to come bash a new Canon camera saying it's good for newspaper and PJ work that can be 1MP for b+w newspaper print or website use.
