I was testing the resolution of a camera to compare the results with Phil's "PIMA/ISO 12233 standard resolution test chart" results. A few questions.

1) Does LPH (lines per picture height) accurately describe this measure? eg, if I count 50 lines in a 100 pixel sample box, and my image is 2000 pixels high, can I calculate my LPH as (2000/100) 50=1000 ?

2) is a "line" an actual black line, or does the white space between lines count as a line? For example, if I can resolve 500 black horizontal lines that fill the whole frame, will my LPH be 500, or will it be 1000?

Thanks in advance.

I got the answers.
