995 firmware 1.7

Why don't you do it the easy way?

1: Download the file e995v17en.zip and expand it so you get the file called
firmware.bin (That's the only one you need)
2: Create a folder and name it firmware and copy the firmware.bin to that
folder
3: Put a CF card into a cardreader, and delete everything on the CF card.
If you don't have a cardreader you may use the camera as a cardreader
connected to the USB port on the computer.
4: Copy the folder firmware with the file firmware.bin to the CF card.
5: Be sure the battery in the camera is fresh.
6: Put the CF card into the camera and start the camera in Play Back Mode.
7: The camera display will show the current version and the new version and
ask if you want to update to the new version. Answer YES.
8: Do nothing until the process is finished. It will take about one minute.

Hi,

I just changed it using Win XP Home. At the end of the update I
could not turn off the camera although the uploader told me the
update was successfully.
A moment of panic came over me as the camera did not react anymore:
turning the mode switch brought no life to it. So I finally
decided to remove the battery and re-insert it.

Bingo, the camera came back to life and working as before. I
checked the firmware version and this was 1.7.

I do have to say it scared me at first...

Regards, Bart
