Here is the final gallery of shots with my 5700 from this past weekends furious shooting spree in Olympic National Park. The previous two galleries (listed in the first message) were specific segments of the park, but this gallery has more diversity of subjects. Enjoy.

Comments are always welcome.

The first set of shots posted yesterday was Ruby and Rialto
beaches, along the Pacific Northwest coast line.

That picture of Hurricane ridge brings back some fond memories to me. About 44 years ago my uncle took us there. I ran down the ridge and it is so steep the only way I could stop was to fall down. Great shot.

Funny thing is that coming from Colorado, which is not too photographically shabby in its own right, I for years had wanted to come to the Pacific NW to photograph it. A year ago I transferred here with my job, and within 6 months was going photo crazy again, after a several year hiatus. I love it, rain and all. You could spend a lifetime here and never see, all there is to see, do all there is to do, or photograph a fraction of what there is to photograph. And if you still get bored, our friendly Canadian neighbors are just a stone's throw away.

(Note to self : Must make time to go up to Vancouver soon)

Those are great photos David! The amount of logs and rocks at Ruby is great for pictures.

Great shots, David. I'm headed out to Seattle in about an hour from now, will be spending the week up that way. After seeing these photos, I hope to get a chance to visit Rialto as well as the rain forest.

Olympic National Park is a treasure and I'm glad we're close enough
to be able to experience it.

Wow, I am amazed at the number or Nor'westerners, we have in this forum (even though I am an import). Maybe someday we ought to try to organize an informal photo gathering somewhere. Just an idea, but not this summer. Too many irons in the fire already.

I'm also a transplant from the NE(New Jersey). The photo ops here in the NW by far outnumber what I found back east and they were numerous.

What with tomorrow being payday, and a three day weekend coming up, I am trying to decide where to go with my 5700 this weekend. Thinking about maybe heading up towards Canada. Never been there yet. Still, with all the holiday traffic, maybe I'll stay closer to home and save money for a longer trip after the tourist season. Decisions, decisions.....

Aw, what the heck. I'll grab a pop bottle, spin it around and what ever direction it points in that's the way I'll go, and just see what I can discover.
