Hi there.

Does any of you guys know an english camera site that will ship to other than the UK? I live in Denmark and the prices on most camera gear are around 25% higher here.

Would you consider ordering from the USA?

UK prices, for many cameras and lenses, are currently higher than importing the same item from the USA - even after obediently paying the shipping costs, customs handling charge, EU import duty and VAT tax. It's a silly situation, but that is the reality at the moment.

So if your local price is even higher than the UK price, it may be even better for you, to import it from the USA; but do check your own tax and import duty liability, first.

Hadn't thought of that, great idea! Thanks.

Objection, RP :-)

As an example I take a Canon 5DII. US$ 2700 (at B&H) = 1700 GBP. Adding VAT we are at 1955 GBP what is about the price Warehouseexpress asks (£ 1928 incl.VAT).

Considering that the US camera has no valid European warranty and has to be sent back in this case, the winner is clearly to buy from inside Europe.

I've used http://www.photoagora.gr/ and can highly recommend them for service and price. I have no affiliation.

Your observation is mainly based on MSRPs, not the street/online prices I assume. In fact, in most cases the opposite is valid. Shopping around in the EU is normally a cheaper and safer option.

I should have added, they are obviously not English, but they are cheaper than any English site and are in the EU.
