Hello,

I have a A20 Cannon digital camra. It seems to be taking picts a bit slow so i am looking for a new Flashcard that is faster, bigger. So here are the questions:

Is there a difference between reglure FC and the new ULTRA FC?

Is there a REAL difference between makers?

And does the size of the card make it slower to read doe to the size of it?

Thanks guys!

I don't think the speed of the media has a big impact on our cameras. I think the biggest improvements in speed would be seen in the higher end prosumer levels.

I tried a lexar 128meg 12x vs a sandisk 128 and it was about the same. The big differance tho is upload speed. The new cards and readers that support 1.5meg/sec uploads is a big deal. Its amazing how fast you can upload.

Hi Cynthia

Cameras have a maximum write speed. So would a faster card benefit you? Perhaps?

You should post the actual timed speed of your camera, giving the format and file size. Then others with the same camera can accurately respond.

Cameras have a maximum write speed, but what if the card is limiting the camra to write at it's maximum speed? IE, a camra will only write as fast as the FlashCard will allow. You know?

So if i get a faster card that is as fast if not faster, my camra will write at it's full speed and not any faster. Does this make sence?

If so.. what brand or size is faster for an Canon A20 for faster picture taking? Or is it noticible at all? Like i can get a ScanDisk 256MG FC for
85 bucks. or should i look at a different brand?

I know SOOO many questions. What is a girl to do? hehe

Thanks all

Hi Cynthia

We is not communicating! Let me iterate my remarks:

"You should post the actual timed speed of your camera, giving the format and file size. Then others with the same camera can accurately respond."

IOW Who knows what the maximum speed is? If you post your results then others with that camera can tell you what THEIR results are...
