Replace CR123's with AA's?

Nearly two weeks later: anybody checked it out meanwhile? I would like to order the MB-16 with the S2 if it works ;).

Hi James,

I got as far as trying the MB-16 on my S2 yesterday but you will have to file off some plastic bits designed to wrap around the bottom of the F/N 80. An expensive experiment at $Aus 160 plus batteries - I haven't gone ahead at this stage (a lot of CR123As for that!). But I did find out that the camera sensed that the unit was there - in far enough to register that "bateries" were in but not quite far enough to reach the contacts. The camera shut down because it sensed "flat" CR123A bateries and came back to like when the unit was removed.
