as to if it comes to Leica or not, who knows

I'm sure there will be a next model at some point. I'm happier that they don't release a model a month like some other manufacturers do.. The present Digilux 3/L1 siblings perform beautifully.

i guess if prices fall dramatically then L2 is here
it is usual for Panasonic to launch about this time of year
there should be some crossover distance between L1 phase out and L2 intro
and the specs should be around at about the same time

my strategy would be to wait and see what happens
im waiting on E3/P1 anyways, or October, whatever comes first

The Digilux 3 won't be replaced so soon. Panasonic will introduce a lower end 4/3 DLSR to boost sales. Most likely it will be a close cousin to The Olympus E-510 with in-body IS, 10MP Live View sensor. Lighter materials. Will most likely appear later with the Red Dot.

D-Lux 4, yes. Digilux 4, no. (And note the date on the posts in the rest of the thread.)

The Panasonic GF-1, likely to be announced next week, would be an obvious candidate for rebadging as the Leica Digilux 4...

equipment: K10D. Upgrading to Canon soon!
 
I'd like a digilux 2 with modern 2/3" 8MP CCD and with G1's EVF as digilux 4:) With good DR, usable iso800, and the 28-90 f2.0-2.4 it'd be very nice camera.
There are no m43 glass like this:
