hi all

I was wondering what kind of changes everyone made to the factory settings. there are a lot of things that I haven't tried it yet, and some of them i really don't know what they do, for example, the diferent types of flash mode, and the manual isn't that too explicit about it either.

anyway, here's what i've changed:
  • ISO 100 instead of AUTO ISO
  • zoom digital to elect. magn.
  • contrast -1
advices accepted :)

Hi Rui

I recently set my memories up on the 7i. The details are as follows:

Memory 1 General Settings
=================

P Mode, Flash -0.3 red-eye reduction mode, Natural Colour, Default metering and focus, ISO 100.

Memory 2 Macro Settings
================

A Mode, Flash +0.3 fill mode, Natural Colour, Centre weighted metering, Flexipoint focus, ISO 100.

Memory 3 B&W Settings
===============

P Mode, Flash -0.3 red-eye reduction mode, Black and White, Default metering and focus, +3 contrast, -0.3 ev ISO 100.

Anything which isn't mentioned is left at default.

I'm also going to look at the contrast -1 setting and see if it's worth including as well. Hope you find this useful.

thanks Russell

I'm going to play around with exposure in different conditions and do as you do, recording the settings for specific uses.

My Memory 1 is factory default except for spot focus.
My Memory 2 is Vivd Color and spot focus.
My Memory 3 is High Jpeg and spot focus.
(I prefer spot focus all the time)

If I want to change anything else, I do it on the fly.

hi all

What a great idea these memory savings are and it's the first digital camera I have owned that gives the user this option. At the moment I am only using 1 of the memory saves and the changes from default are....
Contrast -3
Colour +2
Exposure compensation -0.3
