S90 Key features..some overlooked? USM, lens barrel focal length....

I have the S90 on order, but I am concerned about power on to record speed, maybe the G11 would have been better. I want to replace my DSLR, but I dont want to miss a shot while the camera is busy turning on, which is the biggest issue facing PS cameras other than lousy ISO. I was hell bent on an LX3 until I noticed it took forever to turn on before capturing a shot.

It looks very interesting. Want to see some reviews before I'd trade what I have (LX3) for the smaller form factor.

Slower lens than LX at higher focal lengths may be offset by the new Digic processing. Also, if I recall, only 220 pics from the battery seems low ... too retro. Anybody else feel that way?
