Wonderful series of excellent festival photos. I see that the K-7 and at least two DA* lenses served you well at the festival.

I enjoyed the photos!!

Truly great shots. Beautiful colours. These pics clearly demonstrate the K-7 capabilities but moreover the the skills of the photographer. Thanks!

Thank you Dave. Yes, I found the DA*50-135 and DA*200 are just the perfect lenses for such an event. They allow to stay behind the crowed, and still get rather good closeups and at nearly full open aperture, they allow to get the artists stand out of the photo thank to the narrow DOF.

Thank you.

I am however not sure what's in these shots what I could not have done with another DSLR. The lenses were more important here than the camera, as well as the photographer having to be ready to press the shutter at the right time.

I have been to numerous festivals of all kinds to take photographs and very, very rarely get shots that I am pleased with, frequently finding myself out of position, or with something awkward in the backround or people getting in the way (an elbow, head, handbag, camera etc.) so I know what you mean about grasping the moment.

You have to be ready and make sure that you hold the camera steady without hesitation when you finally get a second (or less) to take the shot. You have done well here - it is more difficult than it seems.

That's a very good summary, I can see you do have experience in this kind of photography as well. But you forgot, apart from avoiding the elbows, heads, hands and handbags of the people in front of you, there are also the people behind you trying either to get a good view, or a way to get on the other side...
You have done well here - it is more difficult than it seems.
Thank you, much appreciated.

Great shooting.
I love the DA*200, I think it is perfect for this type of street work.

nice pics. I appreciate the true colors that come out! Not to mention sharpness, etc...well, we all know you are not a novice...

You do live in a great place: in the span of three days, volley championship , gliders, and now a street festival.
I understand your love of photography!
