Supposed F717 Pic (resized)

Heheheheh... what makes you think this? :-)

Is this because of a wishing list? Or do you have reason to believe this?
I do agree there is something bigger coming. The 717 is just a
revision to an already great camera. I think there is 6mp SLR
prosumer camera coming as well. Totally different form factor.

If only we knew if the strap rings "could stand-up by themselves" or not!
hehe. Then we would know for sure! (:))

For those who remember that thread!

I was one of the early DSC-S75 purchasers who were stunned when we barely had our 64mb memory stick (at that time) filled with our first eye candy photos when....eh..eh..

along comes Jones ..................no........the DSC-S85

You remember Ulysses.

BAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA (Used with respect this once)

Oh, don't get me wrong. I have not much doubt that something will be hot on the heels of the so-called "F717". But a 6MP? And to add to this, a consumer-level D-SLR??? From Sony?????

Not in this forum's lifetime. :-)

Okay, just this one time. ;-))

Is it me or does the zoom buttons on the side look like they are in and out instead of up and down on the 707?

And where are the buttons at? At the expenses of what other features?
A single line of buttons wrapping around the bottom side of the lens barrel, maybe? :-)
Just think about it ... Which you do use more? The auto/manual
focus switch, or the w/t zoom? Where is your left thumb when you
hold the F707? By the focus ring, or at the middle by the AE Lock?
I don't own a F707 so I can't say.
Would Sony remove ALL those left side features back into the menu
just so we can zoom in/out at a displaced location?
Yikes, I hope not!
The existing
F707 w/t may be displaced because it is up and down, but at least
it does not require you to move your left hand to get to it.
Are you actually defending/preferring the vertical F707 zoom rocker switch? I think this new horizontal design is more intuitive.
The user interface of this fake F717 couldn’t get worst then how it
is in the photo.
Well, hopefully those missing buttons will show up somewhere...

Actually, I like the focus ring lighter color and finer ribs. Looks more elegant.
You know in you heart its real...
All of the reliable rumors so far says the F717 will look like the
F707, but it is NOT going to be exactly the same size as the F707.
The F717 is real, but this photo is a fake.
I seem to have missed the rumor about an improved F707 which is like you describe. Can you link me to one? I love these rumors especially since I am in the market for a camera. Currently I have none and I skipped the F707. I am very interested in the next model that replaces it.

What makes you think all the controls on the left side have been removed? They are simply lower down. You just can't see them in this picture. Note the exposure lock has been relocated sightly higher up. Also, as others have pointed out, the focus ring and (+) ZOOM (-) text would be nearly impossible to Photoshop. This picture is real. Its not necessarily the ONLY high-end camera coming from Sony but its real. I don't think the 717 will no be the top of the line offering from Sony.

Heh heh heh. Got a laugh from that.

By the way, what does Bwahahaha... sound like? Is it the mad scientist type of laugh or just an old fashioned belly laugh that bursts out all over the place? (**** VanDyke had several examples in the movie Marry Poppings.)

It's a world gone mad.
I smell copyright infringement here. See, you let just one get by
and everyone wants to get in on the act.

You'll note that I NEVER go "Bwahahah..." etc.

It's always "Bahahah..."

I'm very specific about this. ;-)

And, Yes. It's the belly-bursting, side splitting guffaw that genuine amusement causes to utter forth. I was talking with someone today about how unique each person's laughter is. Difficult to convey in text, hence the copyright symbol. --g--

Really? I was sure...
how unique each person's laughter is.
Yeah, a girl laughs at work and reminds me of Popeye.

Oh, by the way, never go, "he he he" That is lame. It is like a little girl’s laugh. Also like, "Tee hee tee hee." A real man goes, "heh heh heh." That is sort of an inward laugh of restrained macho amusement. I notice you got this straight.

There. I feel better. I've always wanted to say that but haven't found the right time 'til now.
