Attended this car show yesterday because my son did a lot of the custom sound/video systems on display and also had his boat and a vehicle he helped restore displayed.

Had my 0.5x wide angle on my s100fs for these..

1)

2)

3)

4)The grocery bag proves mom can take the dragster to the supermarket

5) This International 'Scout' was a rusted mess not long ago. My son and the owner restored it to this condition..

6) And what car show would be complete without someone showing up prepared to strenously object if he doesn't get a prize?

Rest of the set is here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jjlad/sets/72157621986123684/

love the Scout mate...fantastic
for sale? how much to ship out to OZ???
also what wide angle add on have you got? brand?
I have just purchased a "digital concepts super wide .43x"
and can't wait to get hold of it and test it out.

why I ask is that some of the pics look a bit soft at the edges.

Too soon after all that work to sell it. Perhaps in a year after they've had it in a few shows and put some miles on it. Did you look at the other pics of it in the set? Sure had some clever but simple systems ..eg. the defroster.

Mine's a Crystal Vision DSLR Pro. It has a 67mm thread so fits the s10fs perfectly.

I had tried a a .43x but was disappointed with the distortion ...it literally affected the entire lens. Not sure what brand that was ...it was at a store in New York where I was visiting on business. I have a .43 for my s7000 but had to use an adaptor because it's thread is smaller, and so it vignettes a bit. Not normally a problem because whatever is that the corners can always be cloned to fill in.

That will happen. We're talking the equivalent of a 14mm lens on an SLR, and I haven't seen one yet that isn't soft on the outside edges. I'm actually pretty pleased with it because there is no f-stop loss and I have the equivalent of 14mm-200mm for walking around plus can use digital zoom when necessary for up to 400mm. I'll be posting some interior shots taken at our legislative building after the car show ...also with that lens, so you'll see how it handles archecture.

Thanks Kim. Actually the forecast was for thundershowers ...what we get most weekends this year ..so can't complain!

Normally we get a turnout of around 400 vehicles and I think this year there were about 250 - 300. Many are ones I've shot before and I found myself with a pretty full card ..so didn't take all that many shots ...just tried to concentrate on ones that were new for me.

I've loved them since I was a kid. A friend's dad had one and in our neighborhood there were probably 6 or 7 ...mostly that turquoise and white variety Most of them had that spare-wheel housing on the rear deck whcih was pretty cool. Also they were all hemi-powered and the owners loved lighting up the tires. That was pretty impressive for a car loving kid.

Was there a DeSoto in your family, Dave?

the adaptor I'm getting is a 72mm mount with 82mm filter end, comes with a 67mm adaptor ring to fit the S100fs so should be a good fit and free from vignettes!
