I can afford the camera body, but I guess that doesn't do me any
good without lenses huh? THe D60 is just calling my name though.
I would sell the 707, the laptop, etc to have a camera like that
for my trip to Africa next summer. I am really disappointed in the
707 in one area only, and that is zoom. I know, I know, it has 5x
optical. Well thats great but when you turn the camer on, its
starts you at full wide. You use half or more of that xoom, just
to get the picture to appear as it does to the naked eye. I love
the fact that with the SLR, what you see is what you get, and any
zoom funtion only improves it. Sure you don't get wide angle, but
you can buy a wide angle lens. for shooting lions, giraffes, and
rhino's I would preferr to not have the wide angle in exchange for
a SLR setup.
Anyway, I love my 707 and I'm sure it will do fine in Africa.
Just thought I'd share my addiction.....now to two forums. =)
