Hello,

I am loving my new F42AM flash and would like to try some shots using a reflector umbrella. The problem is that I can't find any flash and umbrella mounts that are designed for the Minolta/Sony flash, they are all designed for hot shoe type flashes.

Does anyone know of a suitable mount or a cheap adaptor?

Cheers

Gareth.

Thanks. I don't have a problem using the flash with a tripod but with a mount that holds a flash and umbrella at the same time. eBay has lots of these mounts but all are designed for hot shoes.

Here it is, just cheap chinese stuff, bought on Ebay, just write these names in the search engine:
Sony hot shoe adapter with PC-sync (my Metz 58AF-1 has no pc-sync)
Umbrella mount (any)
Cheap 16 channels receiver

Also I have a trigger and and a hot shoe adapter, just to avoid having the trigger hanging from the camera, for the A700.
Remember: the hot shoe adapter for the flash is this one

This is the one that goes on the camera:

Gareth,

I got a light stand adaptor from Jessops quite cheaply - mounted on the light stand and has a tripod screw at the top and a hole for the umbrella. I think something similar is available from Lastolite

That cold shoe is on a stud you unscrew the cold shoe and screw on your flash feet.
