Any delay of the shutter release?

I just read Phil's review of the Sony DSC-F505, it sounds only great!
Perhaps I just missed it in the review (I plan to re-read it anyway),

but is there any delay between pressing the button and the actual shutter release (as with the CP-950)?

Thanks,

Bruce Long

That's on page 7. Operation:

Auto Focus LAG = 1.5 seconds (max)
Shuutter release LAG = 0.2 seconds (about the same as the 950)

So all in all if you don't half-press the shutter release the 950 is a little faster than the F505, if you do half-press then they're a match.

This is something that I'm curious about, but in a F717 vs 10d comparision. I do alot of photography of rock bands & I don't know how many shots I've missed waiting for the F717 to do it's thing. How does the 10d compare on speed from when you decide to shoot until it decides it will let you?

Don't get me wrong about the F717! I started with an F707, loved it. Replaced it with the F717, love it too. Truly innovative design with numerous great features. I shoot in alot of darkened bars/venues & the nightshot has been worth it's weight in gold! It's just such a spontaneous subject that I'm shooting...and I need that extra little bit of time that the F717 makes me wait...

Thanks,
Kerry
